Alexander White, MD

Dr. Alexander White is an orthopedic sports medicine surgeon at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS), the No. 1 hospital for orthopedics as ranked by U.S. News & World Report, specializing in knee, shoulder, and elbow conditions in athletes and active patients of all ages.

A former Division I lacrosse player and USILA Scholar All-American at Harvard University, Dr. White understands injury from both sides of the exam table. That experience shapes how he practices: an accurate diagnosis first, an honest conversation about every option, and a treatment plan built around each patient’s goals, whether that means returning to a professional field, a weekend league, or an active life without pain.

Dr. White completed both his orthopedic surgery residency and his sports medicine fellowship at HSS, training with world leaders in knee and shoulder surgery. He served as an Assistant Team Physician for the New York Football Giants and the FDNY Bravest, and as Lead Team Physician for New York City’s Public School Athletics League (PSAL), caring for athletes from the NFL sideline to the city’s public high school playing fields.
