The Effect of Patient Characteristics and Comorbidities on the Rate of Revision Rotator Cuff Repair

In a national cohort of 41,467 patients, 8.4% of primary rotator cuff repairs went on to revision. Smoking, obesity, vitamin D deficiency, and hyperlipidemia were independent risk factors for failure — while diabetes and overall comorbidity burden, despite prior suggestions, were not.
