Sports Medicine, Shoulder and Knee Surgeon at Hospital for Special Surgery
Meet Dr. White
Dr. Alexander White is an attending orthopedic sports medicine surgeon at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York City, the No. 1 hospital for orthopedics as ranked by U.S. News & World Report for 17 consecutive years. His practice is dedicated to the treatment of knee, shoulder, and elbow conditions in athletes and active people of all ages.
A former Division I lacrosse player at Harvard University, where he was named a USILA Scholar All-American, an all-Ivy League performer and First Team All-NEILA selection, Dr. White understands injury from both sides of the exam table. His experience as a competitive athlete shapes how he cares for patients: with an accurate diagnosis, an honest conversation about options, and a plan built around each patient's goals — whether that means returning to a professional field, a weekend league, or an active life without pain.
